About
Welcome. I make earrings by "flame painting" 24 gauge raw copper to create an antiqued look or colorful patterns. The heat oxidizes the copper creating various colors. Temperature and humidity influence what kind of colors occur, so to some extent I don't know what I'm going to come out with (which makes it interesting).
Some other materials used are: 24 gauge yellow brass, 26 gauge sterling silver and raw copper wire for wrapping. Beads include genuine turquoise, African turquoise, jasper, mixed metal beads, freshwater pearls, and czech glass beads. Ear hooks are raw copper or sterling silver. You can request either kind.
Recently I have been trying something different, embossing the copper with different patterns and hand-painting, which has been fun.
